Grape Growers Guide

The grape growers guide is a must have for anyone considering growing their own grapes. The guide takes you by the hand from the beginning to ensure the best grapes possible.

is it too late to cut back my grape vine?

Posted in: Grape Growing by admin on February 22, 2010

I forgot to do it at the end of summer and I was wondering if anyone had a suggestion? The vine is 4 years old now and produces a lot of fruit – although the grapes are still quite small. Thank you.

The best time to prune your 4 year old grape vine is after autumn, beginning of winter, when it is dormant. I found a site that will help.

have Concords and Flaming Reds and have also cut 3 weeks ago and the leaves are coming back. Now, that has never happened. Probably the heat in California. I never cut right at the end of summer.

No, go ahead and prune during the dorment stage.
